Selling our Son to Science

So, we heard about a study you could volunteer at for the Kinesiology department at U of M for some extra $$. They are testing some treatments for babies with spinda bifida. They need "control group" babies to see what is normal. In one study, they test how many steps a baby can make on a little treadmill while wearing different diapers - or naked!

So, we signed up, and participated in 3 studies last month. Timmy took the most steps naked. :)
And he took the least amount of steps with this get-up on. I call it his "nacho libre" outfit, because he had on stretchy pants and his little belly stuck out.

He seemed to be quite entertained by all three studies.

Spring is almost here!

This is Timmy's favorite stuffed animal, his elephant. He's likes to suck on his nose.
These are two different bath times last week. As you can see, Timmy loves the bath! He's always super-happy in there. It will be fun to take him swimming this summer, since he loves the water so much.
These are of Timmy playing on our bed. He likes to have "tummy time" there while I get ready in the mornings or fold laundry.
Timmy has been sleeping so much better during the day and evening! It's been great! I've been putting him down a lot earlier, after he's only awake for an hour, and he'll protest for like 10 seconds, and then fall asleep for an hour or two. Before, I would wait longer, and he'd only sleep for 30-45 minutes usually. Scott and I have been putting him to bed earlier too, and he's been great. Now...if I could only get him back to sleeping until 5 am. He's been waking up to eat at 1:30 am ever since we came back from Utah. (Growth spurt?) I'm sure it will happen sometime. If any of you moms have suggestions, (to quote Ross Perot) I'm all ears.

Timmy likes to have a blanket next to his face to snuggle into, and he will NOT sleep unless his arms are swaddled. I keep trying, because he's feet don't fit in the bottom pouch anymore, but he just cries, sucks on his hands, tears at his face, pulls his binky out...and just can't sleep. Anyway, as long as he's swaddled, has his binky, and has a blanky to snuggle into, he sleeps great. Man...is my kid picky, or what?!

Happy Easter!

These eggs were in the fridge yesterday morning from Scott. HAPPY EASTER! So cute!
Mom, you'll be happy to see that we made use of my Cracroft heirloom, Grandpa's egg cup.

We had a great Easter. We had wonderful musical numbers and lessons at our church meetings. We had a wonderful Easter dinner with our friends, Sam & Jared and Yu & Sophia. We're grateful for the atonement and resurrection, and it was great to take a day to celebrate.

Here are Scott and Timmy ready to walk to Church.

Family Visit

My Grandpa Cracroft passed away on February 11th, and subsequently, Timmy and I flew out to Utah for the funeral a few days later. Scott wasn't able to join us for the funeral, but flew out just as soon as he could, after his mid-terms were over. So, we had the chance to spend Spring Break with our families and enjoy reveling in memories of Grandma and Grandpa Cracroft.

My Grandpa was an optimist and a humorist. I never saw him unhappy. Although, I know he must have had his moments of despair, it was just a side of him I never saw. He always had on a happy face and was glad to see me when I would call or visit. That is what I will remember most about him. It was wonderful to celebrate his life and to hear stories from his siblings and children at his funeral.

The family was wonderful and welcoming, and we enjoyed so much spending time with them and having them meet our little Timmy.
