The boys got some cool Germany shirts to cheer for Germany for the world cup.

We decided to tag along again this year as Scott worked at NASA in Cleveland.

Coming and Going by Norman Rockwell
It's a 10 hour drive, but with the kids and my begging to stop and see historical sites on the way, usually takes 12 hours.
On the way there we stopped at Barcelona lighthouse for a super quick tour.
Oliver is walking up a storm this week.
In Cleveland, the kids really enjoyed the hotel amenities, the breakfast and pool.
And I enjoyed minimal cooking and cleaning for the week, and just taking the kids to do fun things.
On Monday, we had a great afternoon with the Millers at their home and neighborhood park, and enjoyed connecting with them. Their son, Jared, was a friend of our family in Michigan. He is playing percussion in the heavenly band now, and we miss him very much. Aaron is excited to learn percussion starting next year, and Cheryl generously gifted him Jared's beginner snare drums to help him as he learns.
On Tuesday I got to see my cousin Brad!
We had a fun time going to the park and lunch and just driving around town chatting.
It had been about 15 years since we'd seen each other, so we had a lot of catching up to do.
Side note: Brad and I have so many similar facial features. I think if I grew a beard and buzzed my hair, you might have a hard time telling us apart!

On our way through Seneca Falls, we stopped at the Women's Rights National Historical Park in Seneca Falls, NY. Very interesting displays.

Sven and Cora
We've been friends with the Hansen's for 13 years, and it's so fun to connect with them when we come to Ohio.
Isabelle (age 16) and Oliver were so darling together. It was like nothing I've seen before!
After a couple of hours together, Oliver would not go to me anymore. He only wanted Isabelle. And when she left he cried his eyes out. He was so taken with her, and loved her attention so much.

The women who started the women's rights movement were most definitely pioneers, and by this definition...... probably a little crazy too. :)
Really enjoyed these displays and learning about the great sacrifices and work done to give women rights, including the right to vote.
We're looking forward to seeing family and friends in Utah next! See you soon!
