Timmy goes down the slide...all by himself

Timmy has two books called "Busy Timmy" about a little boy named Timmy who can do many things "all by himself."  Scott and I joke a lot about our Timmy doing a lot of things "all with mom and dad's help."  But, this is one thing he has gotten really good at doing "all by himself."

Here is Timmy and I at the neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt.  It was really sunny.
Here's Scott and Timmy at the ward closing social "La Fiesta!"

Here's Timmy with one of his girlfriends, Lorainne (AKA: Soupie) after we went to a BBQ together.  Yay for summer BBQs!

HE WALKS!!!

Timmy just walked for the first time!!!  Scott had him outside, held his vest and then let go, and around and around he went!  He doesn't seem to be able to control the direction he's going very well yet.  It's so funny.  He's just trying to keep moving so he doesn't fall over.
When Scott brought him to me to show me that he could walk, I yelled "Yay, Timmy!!" and it freaked him out and he started to cry.

Then, we took him out front to video tape him, and the neighbor yelled "Yay!" in the same high pitch I had, and he cried again.

All this growing up business is sure tough!  You can tell it's all a little tooooo exciting for him to handle right now. :)

I'm so glad!  16 1/2 months.  We've been trying and trying and waiting and waiting, and I'm relieved to see that he's progressing.

Funny Noises

I wish I could capture all the funny noises this kid makes.  Timmy's new thing is to look at me with puckered lips and say "Hmmmm?" like he's asking a question, and then laughs.  If I do it back to him, he'll repeat it over and over, laughing hysterically.  He can repeat it about 20 times before it loses comic effect for him.

Yesterday morning, he climbed into one of the many plastic cars in the playground.  As he pretended to drive, he would push the door open and say "Whaaa?"  (as if he's surprised that his door suddenly flew open), and then "Ooooooohhhhhhhh...." and he'd close it.  He did it, again and again - each time feigning great surprise, not tiring of the repetition of it all.  After about 10 minutes, I did, and asked him to come home with me.
Timmy's also shown a big interest in music lately.  He will go into his room and start pushing the buttons on his CD player to start music.  When it starts, he'll get a dreamy look on his face and wave his hand in the air softly.

In the car, he can be pretty impatient and whiney, but if I put some soft Disney or Michael Buble', he will get quiet and listen.  He will also hum along or repeat little parts of songs I sing him.  I'm anticipating that he will have pretty good musical tone. :)

Some recent pics...
Here's Scott and Timmy doing what they love best....watching hulu on the laptop.
Timmy has recently started signing more words!!  He has been able to sign more, all done and potty.  He can now sign eat, book, cracker, thank you, milk.  We love to see him do two together "more books."
We had our April snow storm early this week.  So, summer can officially start.  We got A LOT of snow.  Timmy had fun outside watching the kids have snow ball fights.  He wasn't too interesting in romping around in the snow, but he liked to touch it and look at it up close.
The snow was really heavy and wet.  Perfect snowball and snowman making material.
This much snow qualified for a snow day.  Aren't all the kids in Utah jealous?  I even got off work that day because the center where I teach group exercise opened late due to the snow.

6 More Weeks

Here's the most recent belly shot from me.  I'm definitely feeling it with this pregnancy.  Last time, I was uncomfotable, but I still wasn't too ansy to have the baby, but I feel more uncomfortable with this one.  Every time he moves it feels like a sucker shot to my pelvis. 6 more weeks!  Can't wait to meet this little boy.

Here's Timmy with his "best girl" Ashlyn.  They love to play outside.  Most days are pretty nice now, but the coat and hat still come out a lot.
Timmy is still not walking on his own (he's 16 months today). BUT!!!! Today he took 2 steps on his own and several times I caught him standing on his own for a couple seconds.  So, maybe not tomorrow, maybe not the next day....but soon....I think.
