Tablet pics
This is way after the fact, but I cleaned out the pics from our tablet and I thought I'd just put a few random pics out from the deep, deep past. These are mostly things we did when we had no camera on us:
I took the kids "camping" in the woods behind our place when we still lived in Michigan. It was a pretty chilly, and crazy windy. Of course it took till about midnight to get the kids to bed. Then the wind was got really strong. There was a dead try that was practically leaning over our tent, so when the wind kicked up I lost my cool and called it a night. I carried the kids into the house and tucked them into bed. I just wanted them to get used to camping, so since they actually fell asleep I still counted it as a win.
Last Easter we were in Cleveland during our more vagabond days. We were living out of suitcases, and Easter took us a bit by surprise. A friend of mine from NASA, Brett, invited us over and his daughter Adia gave our boys the greatest Easter Egg hunt, and she even filled the eggs up with non-candy stuff the keep our kids teeth from melting. It didn't hurt either that they had a huge Thomas and Friends train set. Most awesome!
This is my mud bench that I made in the summer of 2011. Chrissy told me it's still intact, and Jeff even sent me a picture as proof of its further existence. Even though some kids really tried to do some serious damage with what must have been a pipe or baseball bat or something, it is still there. Seriously the coolest thing I've made out of mud.
Last summer I gave Sara a lesson on hair cutting and Tyler was daring enough to let her learn. In order to protect his clothes, we constructed a nice and snug plastic straight-jacket out of the Gelbe Sack, the bags they give you for recycling plastic. By far the best thing I've done with a Gelbe Sack.
And finally, from the distant past of yesterday, we had a nice little Easter activity for primary in the church. They made cookies, cooked lunch, painted eggs, and had an all-around great time. It was pretty funny hearing Timmy talk in German the whole time. He has a slightly different voice when he talks in German. It seems a little more intense and excited, and I think it's because he's mostly learned German in Kindergarten from other kids.

Venice in January
I took a 15 Euro flight to Treviso Airport with 2 girl friends in January. Just so happens that is an hour bus ride from Venice! We enjoyed our little weekend trip VERY much and got to see one of the monumental cities of the world...on the cheap....which makes it even better.
Since it has been over 2 months, and I still haven't posted about the trip, and since Sara's photos are much nicer than mine, I will refer you to her post here:

I will also add that we splurged on these 8 Euro cocoas in a fliffy girly cafe, which we would never have visited with our husbands. :)
Ever flown Ryanair? I will say that Tim Stapleton would not fit in these seats. My knees were jammed up to the seat in front of me, and I'm not unusually tall. But for 15 Euros, it was awesome!

The gondoliers were just cool. We decided not to fork out 80 Euros for a ride though. It was fun just to watch them glide along around the city.
We ate a LOT of pizza, and Grom gilato, 4 times in a 3 day trip. :)
Happenings
Happenings as of late include: Visiting the Sheep Farm in the Netherlands
We got to feed the lambs with a bottle.
Timmy got to visit his friend Donnell's Birthday Party at KFC. We didn't even know there was a KFC here. Not that we would have been tempted to visit anyway. :) But they had a great play area for the kids, so it was an ideal birthday party location.
Gymnastics
Spring is really here....almost. Besides a little snow, it's looking really nice!
Went for a hike up Lousberg and it was beautiful blue Skys.
And last, but definitely not least,
Darling little Flavia Maracosta Meldrum arrived via C-section last week.
We are very excited for our first-time-parent friends, Sara and Tyler!

The Garden
The grass was so green last week! Warm days, windows down in the car, no coat necessary, and a green green garden! The little white and yellow flowers were popping up. The garden was not in full bloom yet, but just starting. Something in between these Spring and Summer photos of the back garden.

This was our front garden view this morning. (The winter view in the seasons photo was also from this morning.) It just looks a little foggy in the photo, but actually the sun is shining through the clouds. The fogginess is because the snow is coming down! Tons and tons of snowflakes!
It was SO green last week. It will come again, but for today........ we are still deep in winter!
I am looking forward to the Spring Garden soon!
