Firsts

Some new milestones:

Aaron rolled over (tummy to back) a few times this week.

He discovered his hands this week, and sucks on them LOUDLY.

He started cooing. We had a long conversation today. So cute!

Our nephew Jackson arrived today at 3:23 am this morning!! Yay!

We're on pins and needles waiting to hear when Jackson, our new nephew has arrived!!! Good luck Nancy and Scott!!

This weekend, we had a lovely time visiting our friends in Kent. We met up with two families, making a total of 5 little kiddies, which were lots of fun to watch and play with. We got to tour the John Johnson home in Hiram, OH first. Then, Steve's mom took great care of us by feeding us some delicious meals. We all ate til we were stuffed and then had a "roll over." That means that you sit/lay around and talk to let your food digest. :)

Steve's family lives in this great little community that shares a beach. There's a great little playground, sandbox, beach, floating dock and diving board. We had a great time swimming and playing around!

Church on Sunday, more excellent food, and back home again....great weekend! Thanks Steve and Sara for inviting us out!

Ew! We found out the hard way that our milk DID go bad from the long power outage.

Lake Erie

Last weekend, we drove a few minutes North to hang out at Lake Erie. There are lots of cool parks along the lake. This is Rocky River Park. Timmy wanted to JUMP in, and Scott had to keep him from drowning.
We went to a BBQ with some church friends at the Metropark later that evening. This is Aaron wearing one of Brad's (Scott's brother) rompers.

Timmy loves to play with Scott's hat. He also loves his new clothes from Macha.

The Met and the Blackout

Just as we were leaving the house for our Metropark walk today, the power went out. It's gone out for a few minutes lately during storms, so I left, thinking it would be on again when we got back.

As we walked down Lorain Rd, there was an ambulance out to get a lady from the elevator shaft at a nearby apartment complex. I was REALLY glad we were not in the elevator when it went out. In fact, there were police and ambulance being dispatched all over the place as we walked.

While out, the clouds started rolling in, so I started back for the apartment (we were about 30 minutes away.) We made it back to the apt just as the rain started to POUR. Power still out. I got the kids to sleep, and on it came! Yay! It had been out for 3 hours. I was relieved when it came back on, because I was beginning to think our food would go bad in the fridge if it lasted a really long time, and that we would roast from lack of A/C.

Here's some lovelies of the Metropark walk we take. I love the walking path to get in. We can always here the birds chirping, and the folliage is particularly thick at the beginning, and very rainforest-like.

Cleveland Rocks

We are finally getting to detail a little more of our adventures in Cleveland and our first few weeks with sweet little Aaron. I am surprised to admit that I LOVE CLEVELAND! After viewing this very silly movie of Cleveland before we came, I was not expecting much. But, as funny as the video is, it is really untrue. This city is beautiful. There are lots of neat parks. The libraries are beautiful and awesome. They have fun play areas and great toys and resources. We have been to three so far. I've been able to check out toys to take home for Timmy.

Aaron's been a great little baby, and Timmy has been getting more and more interested in him. He looks for Aaron when he wakes up in the morning so he can say "hello" to him.

Aaron has just started smiling. He is adorable!

Our first week here, we visited the Kirtland Temple and N.K. Whitney Store. The tours were very interesting, but a little long for two little boys. We went to the NASA Visitor's Center the following weekend, and Scott attended an Indian's baseball game.

Dad (Kent) - In the lower right hand corner, Scott is blowing on a blade of grass, and Timmy is imitating him by cupping his hands to his mouth and squeeling :) Ha Ha!

On Sunny days, Timmy, Aaron and I usually go to the pool. On cloudy days. we usually take a walk down to the Metropark. We've been down 7 times now, 5 of which I had to either feed Aaron or change a diaper, or both. I'm getting quite skilled at juggling two kids. :) You can see in this collage, the double stroller my friend Sam so kindly lent us for the summer. We use it almost every single day. Thanks Sam!

Last Friday, we went to Cuyahoga National Park and saw the Heron nests. You can see them here. There are over 30 nests up high, and you can see the Herons flying in and out of them.

Cleveland

We are really enjoying our summer in Cleveland so far. We've been here 3 weeks now. The highlights of sightseeing have been Kirtland sights, the Indians game, & Cuyahoga National Park. We've also enjoyed visiting the pool and the Metropark, and as always, watching our boys grow.
