We really enjoyed connecting with some dear friends from California, Utah, Michigan, and Massachusetts on our last trip out to Utah. It's a gathering place where many come to settle, and it's fun that we have friends from all over the world there.
We had a little University of Michigan "Northwood" Reunion
It was amazing how much these kids remembered from playing together
and in the woods at Northwood. :)
All the toddlers were now teens! :)
Emily and Allan set up an amazing outdoor theatre experience for us, complete with popcorn!
The kids will never forget it! So magical and fun!
They have a permanent tent with a full real bedset in their yard. It's Amazing....with a capital A!
We were so happy to meet their darling Lochton
Ollie loved the pool!
Thanks for the great times McBean Family!
We also loved connecting with Mike and Callie.
Mike was on the first backpacking trip I did with Scott when we first met.
I drove down to Paria with he and Scott's parents in the car.
Mike was engaged to Callie at the time and living with Scott in the Deville Cliff Apartments.
Good memories! It was so fun to reconnect with them and catch up 💗
Mike and Callie took us to this waterfall up Spanish Fork Canyon.
Great little hike and a nice cool place to hide from the summer heat.
And they even had a cooler full of cold drinks! Reminded me of when he saved us with cold drinks after our Paria trip a few years ago!
We really enjoyed visiting the Butterfields at their Utah house
and getting to ride their horse at their new property where they are building.
So fun to see them making big plans in Springville, starting to build their new home.
It's going to be amazing!
We even got to see Elder Jaden Butterfield, who was completing his time at the "at home MTC" and on his way to Tucson Arizona. I was super excited to see a photo of him with my nephew, Elder Morgan, last week in the mission together in Luke's update.
After the Parker Reunion, I was so lucky to have another day to visit with three dear friends of mine.
We met up with Laura (my longest friend since age 3!) at the Hogle Zoo.
The girls were shy for about 5 minutes and then BFFs
Right around the corner from Laura's place is our old "honeymoon suite"
at the Deville Cliff Apartments. It's fun to drive by the old place.
I had so much fun visiting Cami and Cora really enjoyed playing with Savanna and Stella. The three were so cute together. They played water balloons on the lawn and enjoyed telling girl secrets.
My boys also got to video game with Cami's boys.
I didn't get a picture with Cami! Darn it! We enjoyed catching up on kids, work, and life.
So so good to talk with and see my dear friend Lizzy!
We traveled to Europe together when we were still both single and kid-free.
Fun to reminisce about simpler times and catch up about the last decade while Lizzy's sweet partner entertained and DEtained my children
When we got back from a long walk and chat, he said "How many kids did you bring? I hope they are all still here?" hahahaha
Since this is a post about seeing old friends, I thought I would include our visit to Western Mass when we came home from our Utah trip.
Scott had been planning a trip to Amherst over a year ago, but with COVID, it kept getting postponed. We finally got to go and it was so nice to finally see Melissa and her family.
Cora and Ollie were reunited with cute Ellis (born just a couple weeks before Ollie).
He has missed her and spoke about her often, especially during the COVID lockdown.
We got to swim in their fantastic pool and see their beautiful new home.
This is the tunnel of trees near where Melissa lives.
It will be beautiful this Fall!
We got invited for ice cream at Brett, Jenn and Adia's...
Again! Kids are so grown! Adia is in college now!
We have to meet on Google Hangouts, but we still enjoy catching up with our dear friends,
Mike & Baerbel on Google Hangouts each month.
We have enjoyed comparing notes about the natural disasters and pandemic on our sides of the world.
