Well, we're settled. We've actually unpacked everything, and we are actually paying rent. So, here's a little breakdown of our travels. (When I get some time, I'll provide a pictorial breakdown too, but for now, you'll just have to be happy with words).
1. We moved out of Ann Arbor, MI. We packed all of our earthly possessions in a small 6x7x8 UPack pod. We got a lot of fantastic help by many. Some of the more pivotal helpers who were key in the waning hours of the move were: Brian and Becky Dowdle, Spencer Scoville, Nathan Porter, Danielle Parker, and some AWESOME late night, tough-love packing assistance from Chrissy Richards and Kelly Askeroth. Thanks guys!!!!
We drove for 3 days (with KT sick for some of those days) and made it to:
2. Fruit Heights, UT. (4 weeks) We stayed at KT's sisters' house and enjoyed their hospitality, toys, and company. I worked at KTs parents house during the day, and life was peachy. We were there for 4 weeks.
3. Sandy, UT . (3 weeks) We stayed at my parent's house, where Aaron obsessed over their dog Bella, KT joined a gym, I worked in the basement of my dad's auto shop, we went to a cabin at Strawberry Lake, and I went kiteboarding 3 times. Marvelous.
4. Saratoga Springs, UT. (4 days) We stayed with my Brother, and though time was short, enjoyed the time immensely. Our kids liked their toys so much that it was rather sad leaving.
5. St. George UT. (3 days) We stayed at my Aunt Nancy's house there (Thanks Aunt Nancy!) and visited Snow Canyon, Zions, and pioneer park with my brother's family.
6. Anaheim, CA. (4 days) Disneyland with KT's family. Need we say more?
7. Los Alamos, NM (1 night) We stayed with the Whiteheads and enjoyed their new place and new puppy.
8. Albaquerqe, NM (1 night) We visited our friends the Jameses eses, and stayed with the Hills. They have the perfect, big house that can take the beating of 4 boys (+2 visiting) and a little girl.
9. St. Louis, MO (3 hrs) We met the Thornocks at the science museum, and got to catch up with them.
10. Ann Arbor, MI (4 days) We stayed in the Richards' basement, and I defended my thesis. With a rusty sword. Luckily, I didn't have to use it. I think I can now diagnose your physical and mental health too. Got some funny rash on your arm? Come on over! Worried about your cholesterol? I think I can come up with a remedy. Hearing voices in your head? I could probably convince them to keep it down a bit. Having a heart attack? I could call a real doctor. I would be really good at it too.
11. Cleveland, OH (9 weeks). So, here we are. I'm working at NASA Glenn, and we actually unpacked. The great journey is over. For now...
