A most exciting day yesterday as we have a new nephew!
Salil
6 lbs. 5 oz
18 inches
Born at 6:12 pm on Sunday night, unexpectedly,
as he was scheduled to be delivered on Friday via C-section.
Allie's water broke Sunday afternoon and she went directly to hospital.
When we found out from Robby that Allie was having the baby, we texted to ask if we could be of assistance, since Mom wasn't flying in until Wednesday.
We got a text back saying that Allie was getting out of surgery and they were waiting to see the baby.
Just a few minutes later, we got the troubling news that Salil wasn't breathing well, and that he would need to be moved to Albany.
We didn't wait for more news. Scott packed a bag, jumped into the car and started driving.
We were so nervous all evening and kept waiting for more news, the family sharing texts and calls, sharing any news they received.
After some time, this beautiful picture arrived with Salil alert, eyes open.
Though not "out of the woods" he was looking well and we were all extremely relieved.
Janice changed her flight immediately to next day, and was able to fly in today at 4 pm, and be of assistance, especially to be with Kaya while Allie tried to recover and Sanchit stayed with the baby.
Scott is heading home as I write (Monday 11 pm).
We wish mother & baby a complete and speedy recovery,
and the new father as much sleep as might be possible in the moment.
Congratulations Allie and Sanchit! He's beautiful!
Welcome to the world little Salil!
We can't wait for more news and more pictures 💓
and the rest of us can't wait to meet you in person!
