We are honing in on the perfect canoe trip at Umbagog! We were in campsite 31 this time: a bit further out. We also started from the wildlife preservation parking, and went down the river. Great cloudy weather kept temperatures in the low 70s. We could have used a break on our butts halfway, but it's tough to find spots to stop at. Anyway, we were pretty tired at the end of the day.
One thing different about this trip, was KT obtained a bunch of free, sketchy MREs last year and we decided to get rid of them once and for all. So that was pretty much all of our food. They are self heating and the heating elements were a bit old, so we ended up heading up meals in the pot. We never really knew what we were getting, so it was a major surprise each time we opened up these things!

Okay Katie what backpack do you like? We finally took our kids backpacking and they loved it. I almost died! We haven't backpacked for 20 years so gotta figure out the gear thing....maybe we are just old, haha.
