January News

The boys and I have enjoyed skiing very much this winter, although we have had record breaking cold.  Scott has been a great sport to watch the little ones while we enjoy Saturdays on the slopes.  It's made even more fun that we have a few friends who also have season passes and are sometimes there at the same time and the kids can ski together.

Cora has also joined us two times by skiing between my legs.  This was after her very first run.  She was in a great mood.  That went up and down throughout the day. :)

We've had a lot of fun spending time with our friend Monique (from Aachen), this month, as she has been in town to do some preliminary research on the American social work and health system.

Most of her time has been spent at the Transitional Living Center in Lowell (homeless shelter)
It's been a very interesting experience for her and for us to hear about.  We will miss her after she goes home this Wednesday.

Timmy had a great choir/recorder concert this week,
and is looking forward to his Trombone Concert on Thursday.

Aaron is trying out all the different instruments this year, but is leaning toward Percussion.
He had a fun Immigration unit this month, and chose to be a German immigrant for his part.   The kids have an Ellis Island Day where they pretend to come across the ocean and check in at Ellis Island.

Cora is enjoying wearing bows and headlights simultaneously in her hair, wearing Princess dresses and being cute and charming, as always.
She is here watching the funeral of President Thomas S. Monson with me.

We were saddened to hear of his passing but are inspired by his selfless life and example of enduring to the end.  I liked how his daughter shared that he saw his own picture one day in the Ensign and stated "I know that guy.  He tried his best."

Ollie's big news is that..... he is MOBILE!   He loves to army crawl and can get up on his hands and knees for a few moments as well.  He's standing up (and falling) on furniture as well.

We love this cute mug!

A few beautiful moments this month:
Playing in the snow, snowshoing and hiking behind the house, and
Scott and the boys epic snowball fight.  (Aaron built a whole snowball fort)

Oliver playing with the shade upon waking from his nap.
He's starting to kneel and stand.  The crib is moved to the lowest setting now. :(   He's a big boy.

Happy Birthday to our neice Brooklynn today!!!

Also remembering Bryant today as it was 24 years ago today that he left us.  Still miss him.
Looking forward to being with him again someday.
