So we made it to Aachen, Germany! For those who don't know yet, I am doing a collaborative study for a month at RWTH Aachen (the university here) at the Institüt für Textiltechnik. The journey was long: thanks to David Jones, we saved over $1000 by driving to Toronto and flying out from there. The kids were tired and didn't sleep much, but we survived. Our trip consisted of 5 hr. driving to Toronto, 8 hr flight to Frankfurt, shuttle ride to Bahnhof, 1 hour train to Köln, 10 minutes to transfer trains (which isn't easy with 3 large suitcases, 1 roller, 2 backpacks, 2 shoulder bags, 1 double stroller, and 2 kids) 1 hr train to Aachen, and 5 min taxi to our Apartment. It was crazy dragging all of our stuff all over the place!!

What an adventure! What an experience for your family and (german speaking) kids. Almost makes me wish you'd lug me around for 24 hours in your suitcase.
Wow and wow. Enjoy!
Glad you made it, the apartment looks really nice!
