We wish we knew what he was thinking. Did he climb on top of this barrier and jump the short chainlink fence on to the closed staircase? Did he not see the fencing at the bottom, because it was pushed away and enter from the bottom? Was it not clear enough that they were closed? Was the cut through too tempting?
The rusty staircase gave way, he fell and left 3 children
and a wife still suffering the effects of chemo and cancer.
It's still awful to comprehend how life can be so unfair, but yet, life goes on. There was a beautiful memorial at Boston University via ZOOM. I wasn't able to attend the viewing because we had colds and I had a runny nose.
Last week, when we were sure we were all healthy, we met at a beautiful farm in Westford for some animal therapy.
It was my first time to see the kids since the accident.
Our kids all got along great together.

Goats and bunnies sounded like a nice way to spend the afternoon!
This does make me want to try goat yoga. It was quite funny how they liked to jump on our backs....and eat our hoodies. :)
We'll need to get together often, and especially to do winter sports with the children, we decided.
Dave would have wanted the kids to get to do that and camp and hike and backpack.
Sarah cannot be in the cold very long due to the chemo effects, so her community will need to provide those experiences for the kids.
Their family is in our hearts and prayers constantly.
